Highlights of CIMdata PLM Industry Forum – India 2016

This years India Forum was on an interesting topic, which many of us never thought will impact PLM so much.. After attending the forum, definitely when I approach my customers I am going to talk more about the “Material” that matters.. Whole world is looking at material and its implication on lifecycle of a product.. CIMdata’s view of PLM is much broader than only cPDM but extends to Design, Process, Digital Manufacturing, Simulation and also the software lifecycle which goes inside..
Here are some highlights from this years Forum:

        1. Need of Innovation is “Material”, “Energy” & “Information”.  Classical PLM focuses on Information, Energy comes from external sources, for innovation to be further successful, Material needs a focus.
        2. Last year PLM market grew at 8.2% in Constant Currency Terms. Expected growth of 6% this year and CAGR 6.3% for next 5 years
        3. Then the focus moved on Material driven innovation, where cases like Nike, Airbus, Boeing were discussed along with concepts of Open Innovation and how it is impacting PLM market
        4. With these changes in Material, importance of Simulation in early lifecycle was discussed and its implication on Simulation and Design software

Like these there were many topics covered in this years Forum.

This years forum was a success like last year.. and next year we are looking forward for larger participation and may happen in different city.. Keep watching this space for updates on CIMdata Training / Certification and next years forum.. We are already waiting!
