Experience and Skills Required

• Minimum 3 years work experience in refrigeration systems and heating systems and commissioning; hydraulic product development is a plus.
• 5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with brazing and refrigeration piping required.
• Solid Works experience required.
• Ability to use FEA as applied to heat transfer a plus.
• Sound knowledge of refrigeration principles, basic electrical theory, charging and evacuation techniques, brazing techniques, mechanical and assembly processes.
• Proficient in understanding mechanical assembly, leak testing and test equipment. Proficient in the use of schematics, blueprints and piping diagrams.
• Possesses 608 certification in refrigeration recovery.

Overview
‘Mech Design Engineer – Refrigeration’ position responsible for a wide variety of both continuation engineering and new product development work; experience with hydraulics, and fluid dynamics is a plus.

The position requires regular interaction with BWC’s overseas client.

Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Product Development

• Work with overseas engineering team to develop competitive solutions for customer’s thermal systems, including refrigeration cooling and heating.
• Assist in implementing thermal systems from concept to completion, including piping schematic, and BOM set up.
• Ensure that products meet all requirements: performance specifications, standards, etc.
• Ensure designs meet the required compliance and regulatory standards as required.

2. Prototype Construction and Testing

• Hands-on building of refrigeration systems, including assembly of components, piping, etc.
• Work with and direct production personnel on construction of prototype assemblies and production builds
• Define test requirements, analyze results, and evaluate performance of tested equipment.

3. Product Support

• Assist in the direction and training of manufacturing personnel of new and modified products and assist production with assembly methods and procedures.
• Operation of data acquisition systems, test tools and the like used for test and evaluation.
• Assist production on trouble shooting production units and repaired units.
• Help setting up SOP to enhance manufacturing processes.

4. Project Management

• Plan, direct, coordinate and lead all aspects of assigned projects, from concept through production, for timely completion.
• Work with manufacturing personnel, to ensure quality and conformance to documentation and specifications.

Will observe and adhere to all safety rules and practices. Maintain work area and equipment in a clean, orderly, hazard-free condition, reporting all defective equipment or hazardous conditions. Perform other related duties as required by management.
